I have been growing my first eggplant and yesterday I noticed some white spots on two leaves at the back by the stem. Now today it's a little bit more widespread and I have no idea what it could be. I thought maybe mildew but it doesn't look like the pictures I saw online. Please help. ~ Amy
It could be spider mites;

I have three eggplants that are about 14 inches high give or take. They were healthy when planted (starter plants). Now all leaves are yellowish with very tiny, and I do mean tiny, holes in them. Is this a virus? I'm new at gardening, my first time. Can I save these? Help I love eggplant? I need a list. Thanks
I'm sorry your eggplant isn't doing well! The yellow leaves could mean your soil may be lacking nitrogen, or the plants aren't receiving regular water. The holes are an indication of pests that are feasting on your plants. This article may help you positively identify which pests are using your eggplants as their buffet, and describes how to get rid of them:

I am having 2 out of 3 eggplant (Black Beauty) plants mysteriously dying on me. All are in a row and one is happy and healthy. All about 2.5' tall. I noticed the other day a lot of really small black ants on the plants and fruit. I've grown these every year for awhile with no problems other than a few ants in fruit. Always rotating the garden. Anyway, there's a lot of small light brown seed or egg looking things (size of a pinhead) on these 2 (stuck to fruit, flowers and leaves) so I'm suspecting insects. Not stink bug eggs in clusters but evenly distributed all over. Any ideas? Thank you, zeke
It's difficult to say with just a description.

I live in Chennai (India - temp day high -35 degree C, night low -27 degree C). I have planted eggplants in my terrace in growing bags. Soil composition soil 50%, coco peat 50%. Vermicompost and cow dung. I use a seaweed extract as foliar spray once in 10 days. Plants are healthy but the buds bloom dry and fall off. To date have not gotten a single fruit. Please help
It sounds like you are treating the plants well. This could be a pollination problem:

Flowers can also be killed by high heat, especially if the variety you have is one adapted to cooler climates. Also check this article:
Excessive nitrogen (such as from cow dung) could also inhibit fruit production, but since your plants are producing plenty of flowers this is probably not the case.
I have 2 huge healthy eggplants with lots of flowers, but 2 yrs in a row I have had no fruit. Why? he first year I did fine. My variety is Ichiban.
If you are simply seeing an abundance of foliage growth with little to no blooms, then adding in some extra phosphorus, such as bone meal, should help. If you are seeing blossoms but they do not produce, then pollination may be an issue. You may also be having a pollination issue.
