I'm planning on putting raised garden beds 10 feet from my septic tank on the opposite side of the leech field. Should I have any concerns? It will be a vegetable garden.
Raised beds with garden vegetables should not be any issue at this distance from your septic system.
Only plants or trees with invasive and large root systems should be avoided in this area.
I would like to grow vegetables where I had monkshood growing for the past 5 years. Will that be ok?
As long as the plants are removed and you are not still growing the Monkshood in the planting bed you should not have any issues.
All parts of the plant are poisonous so make sure the roots are removed.

I had a good crop this year. What should I do now (before a freeze) to ensure a good yield next season? Should I cut them back? They look really healthy right now. All I have done is pinch off dead leaves and clip some runners. Thanks.
I'm unclear as to the type of plants you are referring to.
Can you be more specific?
Can I store these vegetables raw in plastic barrels and how to keep them fresh for winter?

At this time in Missouri, January 4, 2016, it is cold and no snow yet. It rained a lot but my 3ft raised beds are dry now. I do not have a watering system, so do I water my garden with my water hose, high overhead, or low close to the ground? Forecast showing light rain this coming Wednesday. Either we get a lot of rain or we have dry days, more dry days than wet days. When do I water my fall/winter veggie garden? I have sugar snap peas, lettuce, onions, spinach, garlic, collards. I have prepped my asparagus bed that I started in August 2015. Do I water it during fall and winter months? All I did was to cut the ferns down (saw an asparagus cane coming up), and layered about 2-3 inches of straw over it. I am thinking now, I forgot to add manure and fertilizer. Should I do anything else? Thank You!
It is always best to water plants low and deep.
Check the soil conditions before watering to avoid root rot.
Your Asparagus should be left to stay dormant for the winter. Watering now could cause the plants to rot in the ground.

I have just moved into a bungalow and will be giving up my allotment. Where should I put my veggie plot in my new garden? I have a northwest garden (I think this is correct). The sun rises at the front right hand corner. My problem is where I want to put my plot (on the left) there is a 6 ft solid fence. Currently, the sun does not get to the farthest edge of the plot until 12 am. When we had a frost, this was the last area to melt. Do you think (know) in the growing season there will be enough sun? I would like to grow beans, sweet corn, kale, pots, fruit bushes, rhubarb, etc. I know I have to downsize. Your help would be most appreciated. Thank you. Jean
You will want to choose a location with a minimum of 6 hours of full sun, 8 hours is better.

I have understood squash, gourds and pumpkins can turn red and cause useless produce. Where can I find details on this and similar problems as I attempt to plant a wide variety of vegetable plants and their many varieties, especially tomatoes and peppers and squash families? I planted sunflowers out and was thinking of suitable beans to climb their tall sturdy stalks (trying Christmas, if my seed bought locally will just germinate this year, unlike past).
Sorry speller changed stuff .I meant to ask what plants planted if plants next to each out had power to either repell, kill off or interbreed bad combination characteristics in the home vegetable garden.
