In AZ I have a pygmy palm with 4 trunks, one trunk is dead another is dying, and last 2 appear to be healthy. If I cut the 2 dead trunks, should I coat the dead trunk with something?
It wouldn't hurt to coat it in wax, or just wipe it with hydrogen peroxide for a few days. I would recommend controlling the infection in the soil to keep from killing the rest of the tree, though.
This can be done a number of ways. I prefer using Dolomitic lime and wettable sulfur together to control soil infections. You can also choose copper fungicides, as well.
I'm in Almeria. Palm trees died after being attacked by weevils. The tree died 2 years ago but has only been removed. Should I dig a couple of sacks of fresh compos into the earth and then leave to breath before planting anything. Or go ahead and plant a new shrub?
Adding compost will be a great way to help prepare the soil for planting. There are many other things that you can do, as well. Then go ahead and plant a new shrub. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/improving-garden-soil.htm
Good morning I am going to part a Palm Pup from the main plant. I have read your instructions and have only one question. You say put a plastic bag over the Pup for a couple of weeks once you have parted it and planted it in a pot, so could you tell me please it I use a clear plastic or a black plastic bag? does it need light or dark? Thank you Barry Peak
This will be clear. The purpose will be to trap in humidity, while still allowing the palm to receive light.
my palm is five years old and lives in my garden in a big pot but it now needs repotting! what compost do I need please?
Fan palms like full sun to partial shade and well-draining sand to loam type soil. They can tolerate both slightly alkaline and slightly acidic soil. Here's a link:

Hi I am babysitting a very old Palm for a friend and wanted to know how to trim it up? It has tons of squiggly things and also small berries. What can be trimmed without hurting this plant? I am also sending a photo along. Thank-You
These palms are self-cleaning. This means that when dead parts are ready to fall off, they will do so without assistance.
At most, you can give the dead pieces a tug. If they are close enough to falling off, then they will come right off.

It appears to be growing with a slight bend, could this be caused by the oak tree growing nearby?
Many things cause this, and it is a natural habit of many palms to lean. There will be no reason for concern.
