Q.dying pygmy palm with four trunks ,one dead, one dying, and 2 appear healthy.15 yrs old??
In AZ I have a pygmy palm with 4 trunks, one trunk is dead another is dying, and last 2 appear to be healthy. If I cut the 2 dead trunks, should I coat the dead trunk with something?

It wouldn't hurt to coat it in wax, or just wipe it with hydrogen peroxide for a few days. I would recommend controlling the infection in the soil to keep from killing the rest of the tree, though.
This can be done a number of ways. I prefer using Dolomitic lime and wettable sulfur together to control soil infections. You can also choose copper fungicides, as well.
