Several years, strange, blue tarp-like things have fallen out of my palms. It looks like there may be seeds in them.
If you have noticed quite a bit of squirrel traffic around, then this might be a product of squirrels or other rodents. It almost looks like nest scraps that were thrown out of it because of feces. You might need to contact your local Agricultural Extension service to come out and take a closer look.

My wife gave me a Sylvester Palm Tree 4 years ago and the nursery she bought it from delivered and planted the tree. It never really flourished like I thought it would and now I am afraid it is past the point of saving. It is not producing any more fronds. The last ones it produced are a very dark green or brown. I'm afraid the crown of the tree has died. How can I tell if it is dead or if it is salvageable? I have attached a photo so you can see the tree in its current state.
Good afternoon. I was hoping to get some insight on Palm trees. I’m new to gardening. Trying to absorb everything about gardening. I bought a house several months ago. The front yard has Palm trees that are beautiful! Just afraid they may grow to tall, especially being so close to the house. I was wondering how tall will they grow to? I’m hoping not tall since they create some nice shade for my other plants. Thanks Paul
Most species do grow quite tall with some of them remaining on the shorter side, depending on the cultivar. Some of them won't shed as bad, but yours looks like it may be true to the typical fan palm. I would assume that they will get a little on the taller side, but you can get a better answer from your local extension service. They may be able to help test and find out its specific cultivar to tell you more. Otherwise, this article will help with the care of these palms:
