The stock containing several areas that looked like it was about to bloom was accidentally broken off the main plant. Is there any way to salvage this stem?
Depending on the type of orchid, it may be possible to root the broken stem and grow it into a new plant. Check this article on rooting cuttings. You can try the procedure with or without rooting hormone:

However, some orchids grow from rhizomes, and if the broken portion does not contain a piece of rhizome, it will not survive. In that case, focus on the main plant.
An orchid expert told me all orchid seeds are like dust, but I got some seeds from eBay and they were nothing like dust. Are all orchid seeds like dust, please? If not, what are the exceptions? Many thanks. Regards. Colin
Is it possible you were sent the pods? The pods are larger and have various shapes.
All orchid seeds are tiny, but some might not be described as dust-like. Vanilla is the orchid with the largest seeds, and vanilla seeds are about the size of a poppy seed. If the seeds you were sent are larger than that, they are not orchids.
My orchid seems to have sprouted another stem, as well as lots of roots. I know I'm going to have to re-pot but is there anything I can do to encourage the new stem to flower?
It looks like your Orchid is just finishing flowering on the one stem. Generally when the Orchid is done blooming it will need a rest or dormant period.
You can trim or prune away the spent flower stem and wait to see if the new stem produces any flowers.

I have been recently gifted 3 orchids a few weeks ago, and I am wondering if there is something wrong with them but unable to figure out to give the right care to them. I have placed them on my window pane where they get a little bit of early morning sunshine. Two of them have got this white spot on the leaf and one has still got flowers on it but the leaves are not standing up straight and have become rubbery. Please help me save them. thank you all. Regards BIjal

A couple of petals have dried out, so I wondered if, like other flowers, they need cutting away.
Yes, Orchids can be pruned. Keep in mind that some orchids have specific pruning needs.
Always use clean tools when working with your orchids.

Something wrong with my orchid. The roots are turning black, but the leaves look healthy and a new leaf is coming too. Please, can someone help me what to do next: 1) Why roots are turning black? 2) The buds are not opening. 3) What has infected them? 4) Do I need to fertilize them? 5) The color of the flowers is fading. 6) Why does it have a white hole/spot on the leaf, nothing below the leaf? Thank you all for your help. Regards.
1)-3) If the black spots on roots are also mushy, this could be a root rot caused by overwatering. It can be corrected by watering less. If they are not mushy, they could be a toxicity issue: orchids can be sensitive to some chemicals and salts in tap water which can build up over time. Rainwater if available (or purified water) can help.
4) This article will help you:

5) This is natural as the flowers age.
6) The spot on the leaf could be from physical damage. It is small so it shouldn't harm the plant, but the hole won't close.
