Orchid Plants

atemi added on September 26, 2016 | Answered

An orchid expert told me all orchid seeds are like dust, but I got some seeds from eBay and they were nothing like dust. Are all orchid seeds like dust, please? If not, what are the exceptions? Many thanks. Regards. Colin

Is it possible you were sent the pods? The pods are larger and have various shapes.

All orchid seeds are tiny, but some might not be described as dust-like. Vanilla is the orchid with the largest seeds, and vanilla seeds are about the size of a poppy seed. If the seeds you were sent are larger than that, they are not orchids.
