Received a plant in Aug. that was in full bloom, about 13 blossoms. It still has 10 but they are looking tired. Very pale and some wilting of the blossoms. Should I leave it alone or remove the blossoms? Also, what can I do to encourage plant to bloom again? Is it ok to wash leaves? Becoming very dusty. It's in a 6-inch pot. Should I repot? Thank you for your help. Rose

You can cut down the stem where the flowers were. Don't remove any green leaves though.

My orcid lost its blue flowers and I assume it's normal. So should I cut the two flower spikes, approx. 16 inches tall, back to the plant?
When the orchid is done blooming you can prune away the old stems.
Your orchid will need a rest period now. You will need to water less, only water when the medium has dried out.
When new leaves began to appear you can resume normal watering and fertilizer schedule.
Repotting can be done after blooming if the roots are to large for the existing pot.
