We have a lot of moss growing around our house and yard and would like it to spread, but a lot of the moss has grasses growing in it. Is there a way to kill the grasses without killing the moss?
You can use a systemic herbicide to kill the grass and it won't kill the moss. The moss doesn't have a vascular system like grass so it can't uptake the herbicide.

Sure, there are many vendors that sell moss starters, though they do not make seeds. Just do a quick online search and you can find many vendors.

I have moss in my lawn which I am thatching with a hand rake and some of the moss is coming up. What should I do next, moss out, lime or grass seed?
Moss out, then lime, then seed.

Your garden should be too sunny and open of a spot for moss to thrive. It will likely become part of the soil over time.

Hi, We have a large spot in our lawn that is brown and seems to have moss growing in it. Does anyone know how to eliminate this moss and what treatment we should use on the lawn?
Hi, I have some moss on my front lawn already, so I thought I would make my whole front lawn a moss lawn. The question I have is if I choose to do this will the moss begin to creep onto my concrete driveway? So far, the established mossy areas are in the centre of my lawn, not close enough to my driveway. But, if I encourage its growth along the driveway border, will it creep? I have poor, compacted clay soil - with very poor drainage! It goes from very dry, to very wet when it rains - which in the Maritimes happens frequently. There is also a lot of ants. Will moss discourage ants or welcome them? Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you
If your driveway is in the shade and moist then there is a possibility that it might.

Thank you for answering. I've read that article, and many others, but they didn't answer my specific question. So, thanks for responding. The concrete is not in the shade, but water runs off the driveway onto the bordering grass..that's where I'm concerned about it spreading. But, like you said, if the driveway/border grass is not in the shade, then the presence of flowing water in the sun shouldn't help it to spread, correct?
Hello, We have a large, well established moss garden in the south of Holland. This is old pine forest, so it grows very well. My wife insists on raking to keep it 'clean'. My experience tells me this is how to remove moss, not make it grow better. Any advice would be appreciated.
