I have an aero garden with lettuce planted. I noticed that some of the leaves have brown edges. When I looked closer I found the top of the planting medium had a fuzzy whitish growth. How can I remove the growth?
Unfortunately, your photo did not come through. I am unable to identify the growth in question.
Usually, white mycelium is safe and healthy. It can be a natural part of the root zone. When growing, hydroponically, it will be necessary to check the pH, and nutrient content of the water, first. This is the most common issue with any hydroponic set up. If your pH is perfect, your temperature is perfect, and your EC is perfect, THEN you can begin to diagnose problems.
My best guess is a nutrient deficiency unrelated to the growth, which could be attributed to a pH imbalance. This should be checked, and corrected, daily. I am unable to confirm that without visual evidence, however.

I wished you would have provided a link to purchase the French crisp or Batavia lettuce seeds. What company can I order from to get the seeds?
We do not recommend places to purchase. We only offer information on how to grow them. You can try your local nurseries or reputable catalogs online.
Am container garden in large Rubbermaid tubs. Would it be ok to plant lettuce behind cucumber vine or what amount of sun exposure is best? Am on the south coast of western Canada.
You should plant them in front of them so that they do not get shaded. Most lettuce will do best in full sun.

I have two problems - my lettuce looks dried out and I wonder if I have to start over. And my aloe looks not happy either.
They are all alive, but drastically overwatered.
Here are some articles on their care:

1. What are these specks? 2. How do I treat them? 3. Are these edible? (Fyi- One is red romaine, so it's supposed to be that color.)
That appears to be white rust. This will help:
