I'm trying to identify two plants in my yard that I suspect are weeds, but don't want to pull them until I know for sure. I've been looking online but am not having much luck. Thank you.
I do see several invasive weeds. Most are lettuces, dandelions, or thistles. It can be hard to tell which. But the photos you have provided are definitely weeds.
My lettuce and spinach leaves are turning brown and curling. Today I noticed that this is happening to my tomatos plants and some of my small potted plants also. What is causing this? Thanks

they are all over my water lettuce and are black tiny size of pin heads ..thought it was dirt at first...they look like tiny fleas. Will they hurt my water and fish..where do they come from..never had them before
They appear to be a type of spider mite. They can be many colors, but they all take this appearance. They can be brought in from simply stepping into your yard, on clothing, and just by crawling through gaps.
This can be treated, usually with something like neem oil, but there are other ways to control them as well.

I am currently growing various lettuce varieties aeroponically. However, I am seeing that a few plants are showing signs of either interveinal chlorosis or some type of bacterial or fungal infection. As you can see from the images there are black spots on the underside of this parris island cos leaf. I do not think it is a nutrient deficiency as there are many plants growing around it (which receive the same amount of nutrients) that show no signs of this growth. I also noticed that a lot of the roots were showing signs of rot - possibly suffocating the healthy white roots. I've cleaned out the dead roots pretty thoroughly. I've also applied a diluted baking soda and dish soap solution as an antifungal. If anyone has any idea what this is I would greatly appreciate any advice,
This is, most certainly, a deficiency. What other plants share the water? many larger plants can take nutrients before the lettuce can get to it. If you are concerned about a fungal infection, then I would apply a few teaspoons of peroxide weekly to the water. This will stop any infection

I’ve just sown some lettuce and radish seeds in a newly dug over veg bed and watered these in. Except a week later there are what looks to be small green seedlings covering the entire bed, not just where I’d expect them to be from what I planted. The watering can I used to water the seeds in had been left standing for some months and had algae in it which I think had contaminated the bed (there aren’t these small seedlings in the other veg beds that I didn’t water with this can). What weeds are these? What do I need to do with them? I’m feeling really stupid now (and frustrated that I’ve potentially caused myself so much work). Help please!
Those are brassica (the genus that includes both lettuce and radish) seedlings. When you water, those tiny seeds get washed everywhere. A google image search for "lettuce and radish seedlings" will help you to confirm this.
Are seeds of the A. Batavian lettuce available in Australia?
I would recommend checking with sites such as Ebay, Etsy, or Amazon. They will usually ship to just about anywhere. Alternatively, you can check the local nurseries in your country. They may have what you are looking for.
