I thatch and aerate every spring, fertilize, and weed killer. But have one spot in our lawn that turns yellow, like it's dead every year.
Have you tried digging out that patch and reseeding or adding a bit of sod? It sounds like you take good care of the lawn and it isn't widespread so insects or disease don't seem likely.
Have used aftercut on my lawn and turns out their is lots of dead moss, its dark brown so trying to remove it by hand. I have a pampas grass in the lawn along with some other smaller plants,I'm wanting a greener lawn and better results from my pampas grass especially. . What do I do with a datk patchy looking lawn now ? never been a gardener however because I have more time to spend on it , just want it to look well mentained and nice to look at. I recently cleaned my patio and used boiling water but some of the water has got onto the grass and killed parts of it. Will this grass grow back or will I have to re-seed the area? Thanks for your help Jordan
Sometimes it takes more than one application of boiling water to kill the roots, too. I would wait a while and see if it returns or the nearby grass fills in.
