It is healthy jade but I worry about the stability with such a long (and growing) trunk. It had a trunk diameter slightly smaller than a nickel and requires a stake.
Yes, you can trim an overgrown jade plant. Here are the instructions:

How deep? What soil? Thanks. Major. I hate to lose it. Please help. From a major plant lover or minor Gardener.
Cut off several stems to propagate. Since it's a succulent, you need to get it out of the water. Let your stems air dry for about 3 days so the cut end can callous over. Then pot them up in soil designed for cacti.

I have a jade plant which has had fungal growth inside the plant stem. I've cut some stems off to grow roots. Should I keep dry and once good starts to appear put in soil pot. Not very good with plants but don't want this plant to die ?
This kind of internal fungus usually starts at the roots and can sometimes be caused from overwatering or poor drainage. To propagate, after you cut a stem, let it air dry 2 or 3 days till the end callouses over, then plant in cactus soil.

Hi! My jade plant has been wilting. The leave are plump, but the branches are wilting & falling off. I have tried very hard not to overwater. The plant is indoors because it is winter. What am I doing wrong?
Since it is winter, your jade plant needs very little water. Overwatering in winter is the most common cause of jade plant demise.

Hi, I have a large Jade plant that has been getting some strange spots on its leaves. I think it might be a fungus. I trimmed off all the leaves that had spots in the hopes that would solve the issue, but other leaves are now showing the spots. The plant otherwise looks fine--is growing new leaves, seems healthy, etc. Any idea what these spots are and how to get rid of them? Elizabeth
Yes, that is a fungal issue. Removing the infected growth is just one part of treatment, however. It will be necessary with a fungicide, and correct the watering habits that lead to this type of infection, as well.

Watering should only occur once the top 2 inches of the soil are completely dry to the touch, if it is in a container with a drainage hole.
If this container has no drainage, then you will want to water once the soil is almost completely dry down to the bottom. You can know when it is time to water by weighing the difference between the container dry, and wet.

The tree is outside my front door, gets sunlight every day and the leaves are beautiful and green. However, we live in a very damp area and I've started noticing what looks like mould on the stems. What to do? Thanks.
Unfortunately, your photo did not come through.
It is important to know what fungus is present in order to formulate a treatment option (if necessary).
If there are ABSOLUTELY NO other symptoms, then it will not likely harm your plant. If dthere are other symptoms, such as wrinkling leaves or spots then it could be an issue that needs to be looked into.

a whole trunk broke off at the base trunk. and I began noticing other branches getting soft. I cut them off but it seems to be getting worse. I've cut on the plant for years and reproduced many plants from her, she is sick and I don't want to lose her as I inherited her from my grandma. What should I do to save her?
A disease called root rot is probably to blame. It is caused by a fungus that lives in the soil, especially soils that are wet. The fungi attack the roots of plants and cause them to decay. This endangers the well being of the plant above because the roots are no longer able to provide moisture and nutrients.
The cure is simple: Carefully remove the plant from the pot and remove as much soil as possible. Leave it out in the fresh air for a couple of days. You'll notice that the leaves and stems will dry. When that happens (again, a day or two is all that's needed), repot your jade in a cactus/succulent soil mix and a clean pot; the same size or only 1 size larger.
