Q.Strange Spots On Jade Plant
Hi, I have a large Jade plant that has been getting some strange spots on its leaves. I think it might be a fungus. I trimmed off all the leaves that had spots in the hopes that would solve the issue, but other leaves are now showing the spots. The plant otherwise looks fine–is growing new leaves, seems healthy, etc. Any idea what these spots are and how to get rid of them? Elizabeth

Yes, that is a fungal issue. Removing the infected growth is just one part of treatment, however. It will be necessary with a fungicide, and correct the watering habits that lead to this type of infection, as well.

Watering should only occur once the top 2 inches of the soil are completely dry to the touch, if it is in a container with a drainage hole.
If this container has no drainage, then you will want to water once the soil is almost completely dry down to the bottom. You can know when it is time to water by weighing the difference between the container dry, and wet.
