My Desert Rose plant has been outside all summer & doing well. But do I need to prune it & get it ready to come inside for colder weather?
You, really, don't have to prune it unless there are diseased limbs, or to shape it up.
Another instance to prune will be when taking cuttings. Otherwise it is not completely necessary.

My desert rose has been dropping healthy green leaves. No pests visible under microscope. Nor are there signs of root rot. I water once a week letting it completely drain before placing on drip tray. It’s planted in the required soil mixture. Appears to be healthy in every way besides the dropping of healthy leaves.
I am seeing the tale-tell signs of a nitrogen deficiency. If you do not feed this regularly, then it is likely that there is an actual deficiency.
If you can test the pH of the soil, and the EC as well, then you can get a better idea of what is going on. If the soil is too alkaline, then the plant will not be able to take up nitrogen. If your EC is higher than .5 then there will be plenty of nutrients, and if it is less then that, you may want to feed it.

so the other day the top portion of my bonsai desert rose broke(training wire was pulling too much I think) planted that into a 90/10 ground pumice and soil mixture. no rooting hormone, just kept soil mixture moistened. That was Friday. Monday I came in did the same all day was speaking with some coworkers thinking it was dead as it had turned a bit brown. went to pull out and it already had a few hearty roots grown about a 1/2 inch long. now a week later I'm seeing new growth start not sure that the rooting hormone or that much time is needed..:D just my experience though.
Yes give it some time like that, not more rooting hormone if it has already shown some new roots it's in good shape. Water and a little love and good things happen. You are on the right track it seems.
How difficult is it to start an Adenium plant from a seed pod & when is the proper time to remove the pods from a large existing container plant?
You should notice a change in color of the pod, and it may even start to dry on the plant. Right before they fall off, you can harvest them and start them. Here is an article for more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/desert-rose/desert-rose-propagation.htm
can these seed like things be planted to grow more desert roses?
Desert rose can be grown from seed; however, the seed needs to be fresh. It does not store well. Here is a step-by-step guide. https://www.wikihow.com/Plant-Desert-Rose-Seeds
Carefully, hold the pod in your closed hand when you remove it.
When I have ripening seed pods that explode to fling seeds afar, I put them in an old envelope. Do not leave them on the counter! You can tie a cloth bag or double layer of cheesecloth around the seed pod instead of wiring it. We have a very old desert rose that has been pruned back. There are still leaves and the occasional flower. It is potted and we live in fl. Would it be better to plant in the ground or leave it in the large pot? Trunks are 5 to 6 inches around.
It will be best to continue on in container. Planting in ground usually requires the conditions to mimic dry succulent landscapes. This may not be possible outdoors in your area. I would stick to container, and make sure it isn't too large. An inch larger on all sides will be plenty of space for the new container.
This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/desert-rose/repotting-desert-rose-plants.htm
Received 2 plants with bare roots and am not sure how plant them. Will orchid potting soil work? Or what is the best soil. Also need to know proper procedure for planting? Am planning to put them in a sun room with heat.
This article has some good information on this subject. It has some extra information about repotting, but you can skip down to the planting part to get an idea of what kind of soil to use, and how to do this properly.
