The leaves on my outdoor desert roses are turning yellow therefore I have to remove them each day or they fall and make a mess around the pot. The plant flowers pretty much year round and I am careful not to over water. Perhaps I am not watering it enough? I live in the Caribbean where it is hot year round - our rainy season is approx. May until the end of October however right now it is very dry. Is it normal for the plant to lose say 5 - 10 leaves every day? Thanks
This could be an indication that it is not receiving proper lighting, lacking fertilizer, or even an insect problem. Can you include a photo? This can help me to see what is going on.

I live in South florida. Weather is typically very warm. Can I plant my desert rose in the ground?
As long as the temperatures never drop below 60 degrees. Anything below this will damage, or kill it.

Are Desert Roses salty air tolerant? Will they hold up in a windy environment?
Over time they can adapt to the wind, and they are moderately salt tolerant. The important thing will be to keep them from getting cool. They are not cold tolerant at all.

I was given a desert rose plant last fall. I wintered it indoors in a south window sill. I Was acclimating it to a sunnier location indoors until the night temperatures out doors were over 55 F . Unfortunately, my cat dug out about 3/4 cup of soil and the plant immediately dropped 5 of its 7 leaves.. I have put it outside in bright sun. Soil is pretty dry, bottom of pot ma be a bit moister as a sparingly watered it three days ago. Plant is approximately 2-2 1/2 feet tall... single stem. Bulge on bottom is small, but definite. How do I baby this along? It survived hurricane Harvey in Rockport last year. Any suggestions would be helpful. This plant has sentimental value as is from a 93 year old family friend. How do I care for this plant?
It isn't as bad as it seems. Rough times can cause it to go into a semi dormant state. This article will help you with proper care so that it is looking its best in no time: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/desert-rose/caring-for-desert-rose-plants.htm
Do I cut the end of the root at and angle or straight across
If it still has a root attached, then you do not want to cut this off. This will give you a kickstart on the process, instead of waiting for it to regrow a root that has been cut off. So I would not cut the root off at all.
If, in fact, you meant the stem and not the root then you will want to cut this at an angle. This article will give you more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/desert-rose/desert-rose-propagation.htm
my desert rose shows a rotting at back half of crown and several branches have fallen . can I salvage plant?
You probably could unless the rot is too deep in the plant. In that case, you could always find a healthy part and root a cutting.
I just recently put my plant in a new pot, and the leaves are folding in on themselves. What can I do to same my plant?
It is probably reacting to the repotting, which was probably unnecessary as Desert Rose does just fine very tightly potted so it is not as easy to inadvertently over water. Be sure to water very sparingly now.
Yours would benefit from pruning back the many leggy stems.
