I bought a bedding tray with about 300 4 inch seedlings last week. They are now potted up indivdually in 3 inch pots and growing well, what do i do next to ensure healthy plants? will they flower this year?
Yes they will flower this year, but slugs will love them. I put mine out at 5-6 inches about a week ago. Lots of water and feed to make the tubers grow.
I planted a few Dahlia on my balcony box this spring. So far so good. Then late last week as the temperature here in Toronto finally rises and becomes much sunny and higher, the leaves on the plant on the far left becomes droopy. Then the leaves of the plant in the middle also becomes droopy. I thought the plants were getting enough water so I watered it a bit more. The middle plant recovered but as you can see in this picture, all the leaves are drooping and even the stems are lumpy and not very firm. I checked the plant for insects and did not find any including signs of holes in the leaves. I planted a wooden spike and tied the plant around it to give it more support. I dogged my finger to the bottom of the balcony box and it wasn't wet, just moist. So I am not sure if the plant is overwatered, underwatered or suffer from a disease or insects.
Your plants may just be showing some wilt during the hottest part of the day.
Try providing some shade during the hot part of day. If your in a warm climate, morning sun and afternoon shade is best.

I have read the reasons why my dahlias don't look like blooming. If I cut back the mass of leaves, might this make the plants produce bloom?
Do not cut the foliage, as this is how the plant gathers energy for producing blooms. Try giving the plant some phosphorus-rich fertilizer or bone meal to help encourage flowering. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/bone-meal-fertilizer.htm
can you help with dahlias, such as what to do with bulbs at end of growing season? how to plant the bulbs and when? feeding etc
The theory is simple, I have tried it every year but with little success. If you leave them in the ground they will almost certainly rot. First frost will see the leaves wilt. Take them out of the ground, clean off all the mud /soil that comes with them and cut off the stems, leaving about 3 inches on. Hang tubers upside down to dry off, trim off the stringy roots, then store in a frost free environment. Start them off again with heat if you can in early spring.
When my dahlia blooms open they are not nice and filled with tiny bugs. The plant looks very healthy, though. What can I spray them with?
You need to get a bug ID. There is no spray that is good for every possibility. There are websites that help with bug ID or you can check with your county extension service. Search for "[your state] extension service". They will know if any bugs are particularly active in your area as well as provide help with ID and control measures. I just did a search for "insect ID" and saw some great results.
Hi! I have a Dahlia bed that faces east. All have come up big and are blooming, but one of them has begun suffering some kind of wilt. It effects a complete stalk at a time and is consuming the entire plant. None of the others have it. Help? Will it spread? Thanks Mike.
Dahlia can suffer from several diseases.
Thank you for the images, though despite these I'm not able to determine what is causing the die off.
You can read the article below and do a bit more inspecting of your plants and soil conditions.

My 2 Dahlia plants in pots have healthy foliage but no flower buds. Those in the borders are flowering.
