My Dahlias this year have performed well and I have been pleased with them however there have been a few problems that I have not encountered before. Can you help me with the following issues: Some of my Dahlias seem to have suffered from dying leaves throughout the season even though the plants themselves have performed well with many good sized flowers repeating on a regular basis( see photo) Also a needed to remove one plant as it went from very healthy flowering well to a very unhealthy state almost overnight. The second photo just shows a Dahlia that has been flowering well but now seems distressed and has stopped flowering. Can You help with these problems please.
It sounds like wilt or viral diseases. Be sure to buy resistant varieties. Here is more:

We had our first frost last night and a killer frost is predicted for this week as well. I dug up only one of my Dahlias but don’t see any eyes? Is November 3rd too early to dig them up in Zone 5?
This is past the time to dig them up, so I would do so as soon as possible. This article will help:

As long as they are receiving proper care, you can expect blooms in around 8 weeks or so.

Claish soil, but I planted in potting soil. Live in eastern NC. Had dry summer, but recently had 1/4in of rain. I water with well water.
Unfortunately, these plants are quite particular in the care that they receive. These articles will give you some pointers about what they require:

I have always overwintered Dahlia tubers in a frost free area in dry compost, watering only after they begin to sprout. The method worked until now. I have two tubers which have not sprouted yet. I have just watered them. If they now grow, would they have sufficient time to store energy for next year or are they a dead loss ? A retailer has told me that they should have been watered earlier to encourage growth. If this is correct, at what time of year should I begin watering ? With my thanks in advance,
At this point it would likely be a loss, unfortunately. This collection of articles will help you in the future:
