I bought a potted crape myrtle that has 5 stems that are 1" to 1 1/2" in diameter each. I don't know whether 5 trees growing so close together is a good idea for the long run. Can they be separated safely? They have probably been growing together in this big plastic pot for a long time
This is the appropriate growing pattern for Crepe Myrtle.
Do not attempt to separate the branching.

i have a crape myrtle that accidently got hit with a tractor and copped the tree 2 foot from the ground. It has new sprouts but will the main trunks still grow tall?
Essentially your Crepe Myrtle has been 'topped' or severely pruned.
It will grow though it may not be a pretty specimen.

My Crepe Myrtles have a thin dusty looking film on them. We recently pruned them and they are coming back nicely, but they do have this dusty film. It is like a powder. It is not the dark film that I read about.
It sounds like they have Powdery Mildew.
This link has information on how to treat this fungus.

the leaves on my crepe myrtle are turning red
This sounds like Cercospora leaf spot. It can be caused by damp weather or excessive rains or watering.
Rake and remove all infected leaves that have dropped.
Long term this is not detrimental to the Crepe Myrtle.
By the time you see the issue with the leaves, it's really to late to treat the fungus.
Fungicides are not effective on treating leaf spot.

I recently won a packet of Crepe Myrtle seeds and don't know if they will grow in our area. I live in Yuma, Arizona. We have already reached 110 degrees here this month. If they will grow here, how do I go about planting the seeds? There are 60+ seeds in the packet. Should I plant them in large pots or in the ground or both? I will anxiously await your response. Thank you, Nancy Scott

I have a young crepe myrtle tree in full sun. It has developed a white moldy looking substance only on upper most new leaves. We live in zone 9. I have a drought resistant garden. There are small stones under tree that acts as a cover to retain moisture. No flowers yet. I sprayed it with deer defense.??? Thank you for your help! Genevieve
