When would be the best time to prune an anemone clematis, and how far back should it be pruned? It grew profusely on a trellis and porch this year, and needs to be seriously trimmed. Thank you!
Anemone clematis bloom in late spring, so to avoid harming next year's growth these should be pruned directly after flowering. This article will give you more information on this subject: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/clematis/pruning-clematis-vines.htm
It will be in a sheltered spot facing south near a house wall average soil I grow many clematis for all year flowering
We are based in the US, so I am not completely familiar with the climate of your area.
I can tell you that this particular variety is only hardy down to 0F or roughly -17C so if it doesn't get below that in your area, then it will be fine to plant.

This is, simply, to shade the roots from the sun. Clematis must have a cool root zone in order to flourish.

I was interested in your suggestion(s) on how to successfully grow Clematis in my area. I have never grown Clematis before, however, I understand they can be a very particular plant in terms of growing conditions. I have been gardening for many years and have a basic understanding of soil amendments etc. I would very much appreciate a professional's opinion on best time to plant, appropriate soil conditions, i.e., pH for Clematis, proper water schedule and appropriate feeding/fertilizing. Thank you and I very much look forward to your suggestions.
It was grown from a cutting.
It is very hard to say from this photo. I cannot, clearly, see the shape of leaves, and flower catkins to know if it is, in fact, a Clematis.
Usually, failure to bloom is from pruning at the wrong time, or having a variety that will not do well in your area.

Hi. How do I train a clematis (comtesse de bouchaud) up a sycamore tree trunk? I have seen pictures of blooming clematis on trees, but no step by step instructions as to how to do this exactly. People suggest chicken wire, but is there a way of training the clematis up without the wire? As I feel the wire doesn’t look great. Also, can you climb more than one clematis on a tree? Non vigorous ones varieties. Thanks! Khadija
You could try string. Really anything to loosely hold it up until the tendrils grab the bark. Then the tie will be removed.

Thank you- I’ll have a try with it! If I tied some loose string around the trunk, and then just sort of threaded the longest vines underneath, am I just expecting that it will start to support itself on the trunk? Thanks!
My clematis broke at the bottom off the leaf part. If I put it water will it root for me? Or how can I get it to root.
