Received this as a gift. The tag gives you care instructions that say the soil must not be allowed to dry out,so water regularly. Do not let stand in excess water. Add fertilizer once every six watering.Does this look like it has soil? If so how do I fertilize it..
This is, essentially, a passive hydroponic container. You can move this to soil, as it will live much longer in a soil than it will there. Watering that consists of keeping the water level at the root zone but not at the crown of the plant. I would opt to move it over to a soil container.
I have just returned from a 2 week holiday & my new anthurium plant is beautiful except for one leaf which looks as thought it’s been chewed all along one edge. I cannot see any sign of ‘wildlife ‘ but don’t want to simply remove the leaf and wait! Any ideas please?
Without catching the culprit, it can be hard to determine what, exactly, is causing this issue. There are many solutions that you can make at home for broad range insect control. read an article that before using old garden pots for replanting i should clean it with (1) part unscented bleach to (9) parts of water. i am unable to find any "unscented bleach" what else can i use?
Regular bleach such as Clorox is usually unscented, unless it lists a scent on the label, so that should be fine.
My anthurium isn't growing a good spread. It is growing quite wildly and I think I am beyond pruning. It has a stem sticking out sideways from which other leaves are growing and its tipping the pot over. What do I do?
This can be a sign that it is in need of just a little more light, and that it may need repotting. This article will give you proper care tips: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/anthurium/anthurium-care.htm
My arthurium is growing roots on the stem or so it seems. I don't know how to repot it because its already quite a big leafy plant and mostly growing leaves on that stem. Its getting heavy and tipping over my pot.
You can cut those off, and re pot it into its own, slightly moist, soil. This will turn into its own plant! This article will give you more information on the care of these plants: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/anthurium/anthurium-care.htm
Why are the leaves turning brown
Can you include a photo and a short description of the watering/feeding habits? This can be a number of issues from overwatering to lack of light to fungal infection. A picture can help me to see what is going on.
My anthurium has recently grown two new leaves, I’ve also noticed that there is some sort of sprout coming it through the dirt. (I will attach a photo) it looks like a baby flower but I’m also wondering it it’s just a leaf! I recently moved my plant Into more light and it is thriving! Thanks in advance!
This does appear to be a flower. Keep caring for it and it will bloom soon. This article will give you more information on their care: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/anthurium/anthurium-care.htm
