It had something that looks like white mold or fungus at the base of the plant, it has fallen over and burst open and there is this orange-yellow stuff coming out of it. The plant looks healthy everywhere else. I don't see any worms, or know where to look.
It sounds like you may have vine borers and the damage to the base has attracted additional fungus. This article will help you with the vone borers:

The baby zucchini on my zucchini plant starts turning yellow and shrivels up before the flower opens. There has been quite a number of fruits but none of them have grown past an inch. I water every other day, and I don't think I have over or under watered. Don't seem to see any bugs. HELP!
It is a pollination issue. These articles will help:

Can you transplant zucchini after it's been planted for only 3 weeks?
Transplanting is always risky but is possible so long as extra care is provided to ensure their survival, which unfortunately is not 100%. The zucchini plant is growing up - big leaves lots of blooms. I've got one zucchini that is round like a ball and doesn't seem to be growing anymore. Any ideas? The second one is rotten on the vine.
The stunted fruit could be caused by poor pollination. The other is due to blossom end rot. These articles should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/squash/squash-blossom-end-rot-causes-and-treatment.htm

I live near San Diego and have several zucchini plants in raised beds. The plants are producing zucchini, but they only grow to 1-3 inches long before withering. How do I get full size zucchini?

I have insect damage to some recently planted zucchini plants and want to make sure using insecticides is safe. I have had a garden for a few years and never had so much insect damage.
Yes, most insecticidal soaps are safe on vegetables, though I would still recommend thoroughly cleaning them prior to eating. Another product you might want to consider is neem oil, which is an organic pesticide/fungicide that is perfectly safe for humans, as well as pets. My zucchini plants are growing many flowers and fruit, but after about 4 inches, they start rotting.
I had the same problem with mine and then I did a search on youtube and found this. I has to do with pollination.
