Can zoysia be overseeded for the winter with rye?
Yes, but the growth will be sparse. Zoysia forms a dense mat of roots which makes it excellent for choking out weeds and yes, any annual grass you plant to try to disguise its bad habit of turning brown in winter.
I have a Bermuda yard except for shaded areas. Is zoysia a good choice for mostly shaded areas, and if not, what would be a good choice compatible with Bermuda?
Almost all grass has a hard time growing in the shade, but zoysia has a harder time with it. It can survive, but rarely thrives. However, you can take a look at Zeon and El Toro zoysia. They are considered the most shade tolerant.
I love my Zoysia, but I think there is a patch of Bermuda. Will I need to remove the Bermuda or will the Zoysia take over? Which is the dominant grass?
How concerned should I be about oil spills (one inch in diameter) that have gotten on my beautiful zoysia? I recenly had some tree service done and the people that did the work left some oil spots on my grass.
Zoysia is pretty hardy, so I wouldn't worry too much, especially since the spot is not very large. If you want, you could snip away the oil saturated grass to make way for new (clean) growth. You could also douse the area with soapy water (use dish soap) to help loosen the oil particles.
How can I get rid of zoysia grass? Is there any way to kill it?

What is the desired pH for growing Zoysia grass?
What can make zoysia grass turn brown in large rectangular patches, round spots (3' diameter) and in stripes (8 inches wide). There is also irregular shaped pieces of black material that looks burnt or soot-like laying all over the yard.
It is likely a fungus. Here is information on a few common ones:
