How do you get wisteria to root from a clipping?
Planted four vines around an arched arbor in early spring. They grew fine for two months and then some of the leaves turned brown on the ends and sides and simply stopped growing.
I have two wisteria plants. One has many green leaves and is very healthy looking. The other one has less leaves and the leaves all have a red color to them. But this also is the one that has bloomed for the first time as we speak. So my question is - Do I need to fertilize the ground for the one with leaves that are reddish in color?
My Wisteria won't bloom anymore. I bought my house 6 years ago and the wisteria was fabulous for 2 or 3 years before I noticed that the blooms were less and less. Last year there were absolutely no blooms. I cut off the dead stuff early spring every year. It is climbing up the north-facing porch pillar up around the rain gutter. It use to be 6 feet out on either side but now it is only 2-3 feet and not lush.
My wisteria vine is 3 years old and thriving but has never bloomed. Why?
I planted my vine last spring and it grew beautifully all summer and is very lush and pretty now but no blooms. When can I expect blooms?
I have an old wisteria. It's originally from a vine my grandparents had. It thrived when I lived in Perth, WA but I've moved to Broome and it's not coping well. It's in the sun. I've tried watering and not watering. The leaves have all dried up and the bloom it had died. Moved here in February. It had a 4 day truck ride here but was ok until few wks ago. Is there an insect that lives in the Kimberley that eats it? Thank you.
If I'm not mistaken, it's quite a bit warmer in Broome than in Perth, right? It sounds like your wisteria is feeling the effect of that warmer sun. Perhaps you could find a place to put it where it would be shaded somewhat from the midday sun. You can contact the nearest botanical garden for help in finding a master gardener to advise you.
