I bought 10 strawberries plants from homedepot there were sold in a tiny bucket, about June. 5 of them survived after I planted them in a pot, they sent runners out made new plants. now I have ten again now I have 10 very healthy plants. My questions is one of the plants is growing a very large flower wanted to know what type of strawberry it was. not sure if uploaded foto right.
That is about the size that you will see, if not larger in the future. It is almost impossible to tell strawberry varieties apart. The best that you can do is look at when it bears fruit, and the color of the fruit.
This can tell you which region it came from, and whether is it everbearing, or only June bearing.

this didn't answer my question about strawberry, but could be helpful on our trees.
We have a triangular large planter. Shallow planting. What do we do to grow small alpines please. Nothing we have done so far has worked with other normal plants, so we thought alpines might work better.
If you are referring to alpine strawberries, then this article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/strawberry/growing-alpine-strawberries.htm
I'm mulching under my citrus trees, but wondering if strawberries are compatible with citrus? Are there any problems with planting strawberries under the lemon trees to hinder other weeds and provide extra fruit from the space available?
There should be no huge conflict that I can think of except the shade for the sun-loving strawberries. You just need to be able to provide adequate water and nutrients for both plantings. The mulch is preferable, highly beneficial and not competitive. And a good layer of mulch makes weed control easy; if anything get through, its easy to pull.
Strawberries are a known carrier for verticilium wilt pathogen, but citrus are resistant to that disease.

The fruit of my strawberry plants look like they might have a virus or something I can't see any bugs but the red surface has a browning or blackening on them. The fruit is smaller almost looking shrivelled sometimes. It has been very hot here in NZ Wellington region but I am still watering and feeding. Thought I might spray a joint insecticide fungicide but do I need to take off all the fruits first and how long before we could eat fruit again. Thanks Gillian
I actually think that a dose of iron sulfate and dolomitic lime will fix this. It could be either a pH issue, or an infection, but this remedy will take care of both at the same time. It will also help recondition the soil back to a proper pH. Here is a link to more articles for more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/strawberry/
Seems to be right before they are ripe. First time growing. Love in Phoenix
Can you include a photo? It sounds like it could be bacterial, but a photo will help me to confirm, and to help you find a treatment.
