Q.Hi, is it ok to plant strawberries with citrus as a ground cover?

I’m mulching under my citrus trees, but wondering if strawberries are compatible with citrus? Are there any problems with planting strawberries under the lemon trees to hinder other weeds and provide extra fruit from the space available?

There should be no huge conflict that I can think of except the shade for the sun-loving strawberries. You just need to be able to provide adequate water and nutrients for both plantings. The mulch is preferable, highly beneficial and not competitive. And a good layer of mulch makes weed control easy; if anything get through, its easy to pull.
Strawberries are a known carrier for verticilium wilt pathogen, but citrus are resistant to that disease.
