Will it bloom after I have trimmed it?
If you trim it in the late winter, before it's formed flower buds, it should flower that summer. If you trim it after it had finished flowering, it won't flower again until the next season. This, of course, is assuming it has enough nutrients, water, and sun to be flowering. My plumeria leaves have been attacked by some bugs and have been eaten. Should I leave them on the plant or remove them? I have treated the plant and I think all bugs are gone but the not so pretty leaves remain. Wondering what to do?
What insect did you treat the plant for? What percentage of the plant has not so pretty leaves? What is the nature of the damage? If the leaves simply have holes, but, still have plenty of green, you can remove a few but I would leave the majority of them on so you don't deprive your plant of energy. Yellow or dead leaves, however, can be removed.
they were eaten..they are still green.. just half eaten,, thanks for your advice.. i guess i will just leave them alone.. this is my first plumeria so i am not well versed,,
Over night plumeria got black spot just like roses - no rain. I sprayed it with water and joy soap after the sun was not on it (p.m.). It had mild spider mites. At same time, a 6 ft firebush next to plumeria got small spots. I guess a fungus. Will Bayer 3 in 1 knock it out? It's systemic fungicide and food. Ideas on cause?? Thanks for your time.
Certainly sounds like a fungal issue. In your area it likely gets pretty hot and humid, which is favorable to fungal growth, especially if plants are grown close to one another. I recommend cleaning any fallen foliage away from the base of the plants and prune a bit to allow for good air movement. Keeping the ground surface clean and a bit dry will go a long way to clearing up black spot problems. You can also spray the plants and ground around them with Mancozeb, which works great on black spot. Neem oil is another effective treatment for black spot problems.
When and what to feed plumerias?
Feed it with a slow-release, balanced fertilizer (8-8-8) and one that is aimed at acid-loving plants. Fertilize once in spring and once in early fall.
White colony of bugs on my plumeria. How to get rid of them? New at this, so I don't know what they are.
You can treat the plant with neem oil, which is an effective insecticide for many pests that find their way in the garden. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/problems/pests/neem-oil-uses.htm
