We have a few pindo palms, which have a few brown and broken leaves on them, but there are several new fronds in the center. Should we cut the browning frocks? The pindo is approx 7-8' tall and the base is approx 18-20" in diameter.
Pindo Palm require very little pruning. You can however remove and dead, loose or damaged fronds.
How to remove the seed pod before the seeds fall to the ground?
You can prune the flowers off before they become fruit.

About 6 months ago the leaves started turning brown at the tips and the brown worked its way on down the leaves. I was told by a nursery to spray the entire palm with a tablespoon of bleach added to a gallon of water and do that weekly. Also weekly, I was told to spray the base of the palm where new fronds would begin with a fungicide which also contains insecticide. Neither of those have helped. New fronds have not started to develop and I think it is likely dead. Can you advise anything? Sorry that I can't post a picture. Thanks, Frank
Pindo Palm are quite disease and pest resistant.
Check the care information in the link below and see if any issues stand out to you. Did you regularly fertilize your palm?

Pindo Palm has yellowing frons through out the tree. It had suckers, ferns and a shrub growing from pruned frons that were removed. Cleaned between pruned frons, they had black dirt and fiber. I would like to know what fertilizer to use and can this Palm be saved?. I cannot upload photo.

I am interested in growing one or two Pindo Palms in my sunroom. I grew them before from seeds, but unfortunately, lost them in a house fire. Have any of you ever seen a Pindo Palm in a container bear fruit? If so, what was the size of the container (diameter and depth)?
Oops! How embarrassing! I somehow glossed right over the end of your answer which DID address container size. I'm so sorry!
Thanks for your answer, but it didn't address my question, which had to do with container size, not general information about jelly palms.

Although it won't grow beyond 30 feet in height, the leaf span can spread to an impressive 20 feet, and its trunk base can exceed 2 feet. Still, the single trunk, slow root growth and extreme drought tolerance make it an excellent candidate for container growing. You will need a sturdy container with good drainage.
A 30 gallon container should be sufficient for many years.

Best time to plant a pindo palm?
It would seem that the best time to plant these is during the warmer seasons such as late spring or early summer. Here is an article that will give you more information on the care of these plants: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/pindo-palm/growing-pindo-palm-trees.htm
Hello we have noticed our palm has some very yellow growth from the centre, as this is our first year with this plant we are unsure if we need to do something with it or if this is normal. We have heat tape and burlap on it so cold should not have been an issue. We live in Vancouver, just south of Seattle so lots of precipitation.
If it starts to get any lower than -15C than this will cause the damage you are seeing. Even with burlap, it may be just a little too cool for this. If this is not the case, then it could be experiencing an infection. Can you give me more information about the conditions it has been experiencing?
Thanks for your answer Bush Doctor
it hasn't been much colder than -5 or -6 over night and I also have the heat tape wrapped around the pot, trunk and in and around the fronds so I don't think the cold has anything to do with this.
What should I be looking for if this is some sort of infection ? This is my first year with a palm and don't really know anything about them. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks BushDoctor
