Have 3 well established (approx 10 yrs) beautiful peonies. Usually produce endless flowers through summer. However, there is not one single bud on any of the 3 plants. Am I too early or do I have a problem
I'm not totally familiar with how the climate works in your country, as we are based in the US, so I couldn't say whether it was too early or not but my best guess will be the lack of fertilization.
If it flowered reliably before, and is in decline, then this will be a good guess that it needs feeding.

I have a yellow peony which has bloomed beautifully for all 4 years that I have had it but this year has no buds at all. There have been no changes in soil, amount of light, etc. What could have caused the lack of buds & what can I do to fix that?

My peonies have buds on them, but they are not opening up. I would like to put some compost tea on them, but don't know how to mix it.

Can I use a mineral to reduce the shock of transplanting now, in Vermont, late spring? I want to save this plant.
September is the best time to move your Peony, but if your plant is suffering in an area that is remaining wet, I would move now to avoid any further chance of root rot, disease and possible loss of the plant entirely.

I have several of the white I believe they are called festiva maximus. I have had them for years. This year they are not putting on buds and the few buds where very small and turned brown. They have been in the same spot for years. Want is going on????
Botrytis blight is a common fungus disease on peonies. The disease can cause the flower buds to turn brown and fail to open. You may also find purple-black spotting on the leaves and stems. Remove infected buds and leaves as they appear. Fall clean up and a little cooperation from nature (drier spring weather) is usually enough to keep this disease under control.
Bud Blast in Peony can be caused by cold spring temperatures, lack of sunlight, improper fertilization or immature plants.

We have hot dry summers, strong south and southwest wind. Winters are cold enough for most bulbs. Not sure I see many, if any in local gardens. Thanks, Lois Bannister
Peonies can be grown in USDA zones 3-8 (they can also be grown in zone 9 with a little extra effort) and need a winter chill to bloom.
Look for varieties for your growing zone 7a in local garden centers!
