Dear Sir The peach fruit every year is to hard to eat ? Local nurseries do not seem to know the reason.Coud you advise? Also Amazon and eBay will not ship Fugi Apple tree can you obtain a seller ? Regards e Tanguy je27gr uk
It sounds like the fruit is not ripening on the vine.
Thinning the crop could help.
Do you know the variety that you are growing? It would help to know the variety and it's characteristics.
Also if you have a grafted tree and you had root stock take over, it could lead to a more undesirable fruit.

I would search out a garden center or nursery in your area. They may be able to order trees for you if they are not in stock.
In your description for fertilizing you said trees should be fertilized twice a year, using 1 pound of fertilizer per application until trees are 5 years old. You then stated that at five years they ONLY needed 5 pounds per application, which would be 10 pounds per year. Is that right?
Yes, the amounts given are per application of fertilizer.
I do agree it reads a bit confusing, and will ask the Editor to take a look at the article.

My peach tree bark has started to split and peel, as well as produce a large amount of sap. Under the bark appears to have burned the wood. Can you please help diagnose this? Thank you Jay
This tree sounds like it has a canker. There is no cure, but there are things you can do to manage this. Here is an article that will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/disease/weeping-amber-in-trees.htm
Hello, I found you on line. I have a peach tree that is 6 yrs old. It has grown fruit. 2nd year it produced a good amount but never got fully developed. Last year it had tons but the tree got so heavy it broke branches and the fruit was small. I have attached a few photos to show you how it is growing. It is probably 12 feet tall. I have pruned it some but I am afraid to really hack at it, but I also feel that is what it needs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks James
You can safely take about a foot off of each branch tip right now. This will help. There is an underlying problem, though. Do you fertilize this regularly? You should do so at least once per year. It could be that your soil is lacking the proper nutrients to fruit.
I do not. I tell myself every year that I will. I am planning on doing it this year.
I have arrived at house to find my peach tree , that has tiny new peaches on has leaf curl all over . Can I treat now or do I wait till winter and just let the bad leaves drop off.
You will want to treat this with a fungicide spray when the leaves drop for the fall. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/peach/peach-leaf-curl.htm
Do you know anything about an old timey small white peach? My Grandma used to have a tree but it died and I can't find any anywhere now.
There are very many cultivars of antique white peaches. I would consult your local extension service to see if they can help you locate this. Here is a link to help you find the closest one to you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/extension-search/
I planted a small peach tree last year,(small, about 5 feet tall) following all the instructions from the nursery. When I thought the tree was dead, (I'm new to this) I go out to my backyard and I see my peach tree full of flowers but only a couple of leaves, just a couple, no more. Is that normal? should I fertilize my tree? temperatures here right now are around 65-75 degrees. Should I spend some of the flowers to get better fruit? What about how much water? Sorry to ask so many questions but I'm really excited that my tree survived my lack of knowledge. thank you.
Many fruits will put out flowers first, and leaves later, including many peaches. There is nothing that you will have to do until next year when it will be fully established. This year, if you want, you can cut just a few inches from each branch tip/tips to help promote branching next year.
Fertilize in spring each year, right as they are coming out of dormancy. This article will give you more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/peach/peach-tree-care.htm
