When is the best time to plant monkey grass and is this a plant that requires shade or sun? I've just had monkey grass planted and some of the plants have turned brown after just a week in the ground. I was told not to water too much and now since some have turned brown, I am told to water more and that there may be too much sunshine and not any shade. Please advise.

Landscapers just cut back all my monkey grass, in October. Is this proper?
As long as it's still reasonably cool, but not cold, where you live then it should be ok. However, once temps begin falling later this fall, pruning may cause it damage during the winter. Of course, those living in warmer climates don't need to worry about this. This article should hep: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/groundcover/monkey-grass/pruning-monkey-grass.htm
Our monkey grass is well established and thick. Now, in an Alabama fall, it is getting brown and unattractive. We usually cut it in the spring, but couldn't we cut it back in the fall of the year? It is so ugly with the brown growing out over the sidewalk.
