What is causing this white grey , velveteen to the touch fungus on our Maple trees ? It has already destroyed one of the trees . I am worried that it has started on our 15 yr our Crimson King Maples. Can you give us some input? We live in the Ottawa Vally Region CANADA
There are several diseases that could be the issue.

I would suggest contacting a certified Arborist to inspect your tree.

I have a maple tree, probably 40 yrs. + old and 40' high. I would like to cut off some low branches. Is this ok to do, or will it kill the tree?
Yes, you can remove low-hanging branches on a maple tree. It's best to not prune the upper branches on a mature tree, but removing the low branches is fine. Here is more about how to do it:

I purchased two Northwind Maples and they started to leaf out, when we got down to 26 degrees one day and the leaves curled up and dried. The trees seem to be green and the branches somewhat flexable with no signs of leafing out, can you tell me what to expect?
Leaf damage from frost will likely not effected the overall health of the tree.
Continue the care of your newly planted tree.

We have a maple tree in our back yard that is losing it's leaves - they just got leafed out and they are falling off - lots of them! What would cause this?
I'm sorry your maple tree is losing its leaves! Keep in mind if you had a recent cold spell, that "could" very well be the simple answer, and the tree will still be fine, but if you aren't able to diagnose the problem yourself, you may want to consult a local arborist.

I planted a Deborah maple three years ago, earwigs chewed on tree and lost some bark, now it has long vertices cracks in it ,in the main tree what can I do or what is this?
The vertical cracking or any bark cracking can be due to uneven watering or even winter damage.
Most trees can heal from bark damage and it should not inhibit the growth of the tree unless the tree should become girdled.

Can I plant a red maple tree about 25 feet from a inground pool. Will the roots seek the water in the pool? The water table is high in the yard you only have to dig about 2.5 feet to start getting wet soil.
A Red Maple Tree would not be suitable to be planted near a pool.
