I have a maple tree covering my yard (NY). It is on the neighbors property, but must of the limbs hang over my yard. Ever since April, it has been dropping seeds and samaras (helicopters) My patio is literally COVERED. Can't even bring food outside because of the contact barrage of seeds. When will it stop?? Will it continue throughout the summer months?? Thank you!! Thinking of calling a tree guy to help!
My Healthy trees are dropping smaller (boomerang-helicopter) shaped seeds now than when they were younger. From / tip to tip they are now about 1" apart when they use to be / 1.5" up to almost 2" apart. Is this a sign I should be aware of? One Tree is about 40 years old as the others are maybe 25-30 years old. We are Here in Cambridge, Ontario .
Unfortunately the seeds are part of the process of your Maple Trees life cycle.
You can consult an Arborist to have the tree treated with hormones to curb the production of seeds.

Is there a breed of Maple tree that does NOT produce sticky leaves?
Sticky leaves is generally an indication of a pest issue. The pests secrete honeydew.

Maple Leaves are not sticky in a normal tree.
I had a painter break off a huge limb of my dwarf maple, can I try to tape it back?
It would probably be better to just prune off the damaged part with a nice clean cut so it can heal over quickly without jagged edges that can leave it exposed to pests and diseases

I had a tree service come today to confirm my thoughts that my Autumn Maple had verticillium wilt. We dug the dirt from around the trunk and we're going to give it a week but they told me that it will probably have to be pull. They also said another "maple" could not be planted in the same hole. Could another type of tree be planted in the same hole or not?
After removal of the tree and it's remaining roots, you could replace with a disease resistant tree, but not a Maple Tree.
Check with your County Extension Office for a list of trees.

I have a hole in the trunk of the tree and need to get a tree trunk filler repair. What is a good product?
It isn't always a good idea to patch a hole in a tree.
This link will help you access your tree.
