My neighbor has a hydrangea that is very dark purple. Almost black. How do I get that?
I found the name of a very dark Hydrangea, named Black Diamond.
I also found this link that is very interesting. Hovaria Hobergine Hydrangea.

I transplanted my bush about 2 years ago, but it doesn't get any bigger. It has leaves and produces one flower; what can I do?
Make sure you have the Hydrangea planted in an area that receives full sun or partial shade. If you are in a warm climate, you may want to have morning sun and afternoon shade.

We have lived here for 2.5 years and have never had an issue with these hydrangeas. This year...part of it is dying and I have no idea what to do! I deadheaded the blooms last year when the blooms faded and fertilized lightly at the beginning of spring. Please help!
Hydrangeas can be effected by a few diseases or pests.

I have a "propagation" question for someone who knows and understand the process. While cutting back my hydrangeas this week, I accidentally removed several what appeared to be "dead" branches from my vantage point. However, when I pulled them out away from the base of the bush, I noticed several small leaves growing at the base of these branches, along with others that appeared dead, but once the brown exterior fell away, underneath I found a green living stalk. Can I "re-root" these stalks in "Take Root" Powder and place the bottom end in good potting soil, or should I just place them in a clear glass container and hope for roots to form without dirt? In the meantime, I have wrapped the stalks in wet newspaper, and am trying to keep them alive. Thanks!

How do I plant Hydrangea seeds?
You can either sow the seeds in the fall or cover and store the seeds in a dry, cool area through the winter to sow next spring.
Choose a good-quality pot or container and fill it with a potting mix or soil high in nutrients and organic matter. Starting with nutrient-rich soil is beneficial to the plant. The soil must be well-drained and moist at the same time.
Leave a couple of inches free at the top of the pot. To sow the seeds, just dust the seeds on top of the soil. Do not disturb the soil or try to mix the seeds with the soil.
Keep the soil moist at all times without making it soggy. Once the plant germinates and develops strong roots, it can be moved outside to a bright location where it will get enough sunlight. However, you must protect the plant from intense heat.
If you are sowing the seeds in fall, keep the pot indoors in a well-lit area throughout the winter. Keep it away from heat sources indoors.
The seeds will soon germinate, and you can move the pot outdoors, transplanting in spring.
