I planted a semi dwarf Dogwood tree , it is in its second year and there are 2 areas ( about 8 to 10 inches ) that are showing cracking and splitting of the outer bark . What is the recommended method(s) for repair? It was suggested that I apply spag moss and a tree wrap product? Your opinion? Much Appreciated Jim Mulcahy / Larchmont , N Y
This appears to be what is called Basal Trunk Canker. This is a serious tree illness that will have to be dealt with by a certified arborist. Your local extension service should be able to help. This link will help you find the nearest one to you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/extension-search
Understand there is something called Bordeaux to spray on them?? Any help appreciated. M
Bordeaux mixture is an old school copper fungicide that is not appropriate for all disease issues. It is a preventive dormant spray for use when the plant has dropped all foliage for winter dormancy, killing fungal sprores and suppressing new disease incidence for spring. It is not a cure for an active infection.
General advice is to improve soil fertility as the first line of defense, by enhancing nutrient density and plant resistance to pests and diseases. Water management is vitally important, water deficit/drought or other physiological stress makes plants more susceptible to disorders, diseases, and pests. Use horticultural oil or neem oil, and/or biological fungicides and botanical pest repellents early in the season as pro-active measures. Don't wait for advanced problems before reacting.

should I remove the dead top. This is a very old tree on the side of a cliff, planted below hardwood trees. Has been beautiful for the last 20 years and then just died. However when I was about to remove I noticed sprouts on the trunk.
It will, likely, do something from the trunk. It will not return to its original form, but it may start to grow again. Make sure to cut off any dead growth, and care for it as usual.

I have a 50 year old dogwood that has holes in it and the bark is easily peeled off, some falling off. What can I do that is a natural treatment to try and save it. It partially bloomed. Should I cut off the limbs that did not bloom?
It could be dogwood borers. The only solution is pesticide treatment. Here are a couple articles that should help:

I bought a Kousa full sun dogwood 9 years ago. It was moved 3 times before it found the right spot. It took 3 years to have blooms. Now it blooms; but it blooms later than all the other dogwoods in the Atlanta area (which is OK) BUT it blooms pale green blooms so I never have the bright white lovely blooms I planted it to have! Is there anything that can be done to get white blooms?
Here is an extension article that says the bracts of the Kousa start out small and are lime colored and expanding. The true flower is in the center of the bract and is insignificant. They bloom later than the flowering dogwood species.
Do yours eventually turn white?
Here is information on their care that may promote better bract color:

I planted this dogwood on 22 April in my garden as a memory tree for my deceased dog. Since planting the weather went from quite cold to very hot then very wet....the weather has been awful this spring. I live in Castalia Ohio. Could you please let me know why the edges of the leaves are turning yellow, is it because of the high winds, or too much rain or maybe the soil quality, I do have sandy soil but not sure of the ph levels....not sure if the soil needs more iron, if so what fertilizer do I use? The tree has finished flowering and all petals have gone. Some leaves are a reddish colour when they first begin to grown then turn green, not sure if they were yellow before green or green then started to turn yellow. I have never had a dogwood before. Also I am not used to the American weather here in Ohio, I am from the UK where we do not have such cold winters and late spring time.....so everything is new for me here in the gardening world. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
It sounds like you could benefit with a soil sample. You can obtain one through your local Extension service. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/info/what-is-extension-service.htm
