I recently bought an indoor calla lily. I am keeping it in as much light as I can. The flowers and flower buds have begun to fall over, and the stems are getting bent. I have been straightening and propping them up on the rest of the plant, but I'm afraid they won't continue to flower. I've been watering lightly every few days. I know I must be doing something wrong. How do I keep the flowers from falling over?
You should give the plant a dormant period following the bloom time to encourage additional blooming. After blooming, calla lilies need a rest period. They may just be trying to going dormant. Give them time to go dormant and they should come back fine after this. Hold back on water do help them go into their dormancy. I have an outdoor plant, blooming wonderfully right now, but small leaves are clustering around the base. Are these like suckers? Should I cut these? It would make the plant look nicer, I think. This is my first calla lily and I've not seen this question addressed anywhere.
I would hold off on cutting the foliage, though you may trim back the flower stems on any spent blooms.
When do you plant calla bulbs in Ontario and how high do they grow?
You can plant them out when the night time temperatures in your area are reliably above 12c.
It depends on the variety but most varieties grow to be about 30-40cm tall.
I live in Oceanside, New York. Can I plant outside a calla lily in my garden near a tulip plant?
Yes, just prepare the planting hole around the same depth as the pot it is currently in and water it well. Here is an article that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/calla-lily/growing-calla-lilies-and-care-of-calla-lilies.htm
How do I save my Calla lily? I brought it from the store in a pot about two weeks ago and the flowers are wilting. The foliage still looks green but flowers seem to be dying. What can I do to save it?
They have most likely reached their peak and are now done. Generally, potted calla lilies bloom 4-6 weeks, though there is no telling how long they were in bloom when you got them two weeks ago. Blooming may also be delayed or shortened if not receiving adequate lighting. Simply remove the spent blooms/flower stalks.
I received a blooming pink calla lily as a gift. Do I plant it outdoors? Do I keep it indoors and treat it as a houseplant?
They can be grown indoors or outside in the garden. Here is an article that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/calla-lily/growing-calla-lilies-and-care-of-calla-lilies.htm

I want to know how to keep the deep purple color that the lilies came in. The plants were received as a gift and they're beautiful and dark purple. Will they stay that way or do I need to do anything special to help to keep the color? Also, the same for a purple hydrangea.
The colors in flowers result from pigments produced by the plant, which can be affected by temperature and light exposure. Soil pH can also affect this in some plants.
