Trimming Calla Lily

Question

I have an outdoor plant, blooming wonderfully right now, but small leaves are clustering around the base. Are these like suckers? Should I cut these? It would make the plant look nicer, I think. This is my first calla lily and I’ve not seen this question addressed anywhere.

I would hold off on cutting the foliage, though you may trim back the flower stems on any spent blooms.
