My cabbage was planted two months ago and the leaves are very large and look beautiful and no sign of pests or disease but they have no head forming. The leaves are very dark green and I water twice a day and I feed them once a week with miracle grow. This is my first time growing cabbage so how long should it take to form a head? Thank you so much Daniel Draper
Cabbage does take quite a long time to come to head. Typically the beginning of fall is when the head will develop.
I planted Ruby Perfection cabbage transplants in mid May. They now have heads about 1 1/2 to 2 inches at the base. How long before the head reaches a size I can harvest?
Here is a link with help on when to harvest. Growth rate will vary with environmental conditions.

Have you ever heard of a cabbage producing multiple heads?
I have heard of a cabbage plant producing second heads after the first head was harvested. If your cabbage simultaneously produced many heads on one plant that is an interesting discovery! You could try saving seeds from the plant if it prudices any.
If you didn't grow this plant from purchased seeds this year, it's possible that it is a cross between ordinary cabbage and a brussels sprout plant, since these are two varieties of the same species and can cross-pollinate.
I'd like to know if the green leafy part of the cabbage is edible?
My cabbage is still in my garden. I want to keep it in the garden as long as possible before moving them to my root cellar. What is the lowest temperature the cabbage are able to take, prior to my harvesting them? Thank you.
Cabbage can continue thriving in light freezing temperatures, and even as low as 26 degrees, even if they've been snowed on. Temperatures lower than this, or sustained temperatures below 28 degrees, can damage the leaves, so they should be harvested before this happens. Some cabbage varieties are even more cold hardy than this.
Hi, I need help with troubleshooting for 3 different plants. Photos "garden" and "garden4" are of my cabbage plants, these were started in the pots about March 15th and they seemed to have stopped growing. The bottom leaves turn orange or purple and dye off and the stems seemed to have turned woody. I'm not sure what happened because they were going so well and then they just weren't "garden2" is of my radishes. I started them about 1week ago, they sprouted up nicely and strong then 2 days ago a few fell over, the next day they all fell over when I plucked this one out of the ground for further inspection it seems to be thinning in some parts of the stem-- again not sure why. Last photo "garden 3" is of my zucchini plant. This one bummed me out the most. I start it from seed it was going great, transplanted really well. I started this about March 15th. 2 days ago all the leaves start browning and shriveling up. I have NO clue why. I'm so sad about this one. Please help. Thank you
It looks to me like fungal problems, specifically a fungal disease called damping off. This article may help:

Hellow I am growing a cabbage but something is eating holes in the leafs. I am finding little green caterpillars, and I can see eggs every once in a while, (I wash them away with the hose), I pick the caterpillars off, what can I spray it with that isn't harmful to humans? Some one told me diluted dish soap but Im afraid, my grandson gave me the plant and he is helping me grow it. Sometimes I see a big white butterfly landing on it too, is this the guy laying these eggs? Thank You for any advice you can share with me. Margie meemaa03@yahoo.com
