We would like to plant a small hedge around our front porch. It receives some full shade and some part shade in zone 6b. What boxwood will grow in full shade?
Any boxwood will tolerate full shade, but you do have many other choices, as well! This article will help:

een up" somewhat as the season progresses but never really grow like the others They are planted in a very sandy soil. The leaves are from yellow to a rust color
Several possibilities - one is that the soil in that spot may not be what it should be; perhaps that end gets a different exposure to the elements, too much water is pooling at the roots, causing root rot, or perhaps there's a more serious problem. I think this article will help:

Hi, I’m hoping you can help me. I have some Buxus which have done damage but cannot identity what is wrong with them. Photos are attached but some have become very dry and lost leaves but developed some white residue on them. And some have rust like leaves tips. Any help is appreciated as I don’t know if they are salvageable. Many thanks, Vaneesh sharma

et Please recommend a shrub/hedge like plant for Sturgis, SD that can be used as a hedge. Plant should grow from 2-3 feet high and not more than about 18 inches wide. Should be both wet and dry tolerant. Flowering would be a benefit but not a requirement. Low maintenance is important. Thank you.
You can find dwarf boxwood shrubs that stay about that size. Here are more options. You can pick and choose the lower growing shrubs for your zone 5.

Hi, my boxwoods on separate sides of my home both appear to be dead. You can see some small blooming at the bottom of some. The same has happened to my barberry(I believe that is what they are). Are either of these repairable? If so, so I cut from the dead tops?
Cut your boxwoods all the way to the green and see if they regrow. They are slow growers, so if you don't like the look, you may want to replace. The barberry just needs the dead part of the stems removed. It looks good otherwise. Just a little winter kill.
self. I have just replanted it in a new wooden planter with some fresh compost and drainage. It is now out of shape and too tall f or the balcony. Can I trim it now or is this too soon after replanting or should I leave it until next year maybe? Any tips on recovering my box hedge. I intend to water it well over the summer with regular feeds but would like advice on best time to prune especially after replanting this year?
Wait a couple of weeks to let it recover from the replanting before pruning. Boxwood can be trimmed any time of year except late fall.

They were healthy long established plants last year. By March some had lost nearly all foliage. I have fed them vigorously and even baldish ones are shooting green inside. Will they return? Was original problem root rot? If so do you advise a grit mix to help drainage or something else? Grateful to you for your help !
Don't overdo on the fertilizer! It could be boxwood blight which causes defoliation. The leaves can regrow, however, most people remove the plants.
