It resembles the photos of Black Sigatoka or Black Leaf Streak developing. I hope it is not. Here is more about leaf streak and other diseases.

Having lived in Hawaii for many years, moving back to the mainland has been - - - shall we say, 'very distasteful'. While in the islands, we always had an abundance of plumeria, pikake and bananas! We now live in North Texas, Dallas-Ft. Worth area, and are trying to find a banana that we can still grow year round. I am hearing there is something like a "Musa Cavendish Dwarf Banana" - please forgive the questionable name - I'm remembering but have the wrong name. This was said to be a banana we can grow inside - and out - and produces a good amount of bananas. Any help or assistance you can give us in the way of advise would be most welcome - and if you know of a really good tropical outlet that can mail to us - that would be most appreciated as well. Mahalo for your site.

I read that palm trees like partial shade so decided to experiment. Wish I didn’t ! I’ve had my banana plant growing indoor by south / window for about 2 years now and it has been growing okay. On 14th we moved plant to partial shade After it was moved it started to decline. About 5 days ago I moved it back to sun/ south where it was previously. Also read that it needs partly sandy mulchy soil so changed up from potting soil to sandy/mulchy for better drainage. When was reporting - realized all plant needed was water. It was too dry. Replanted and chopped 3 babies off since they’ve been there for months and didn't show any growth in height. Roots were quite chunky and large Since about 7 days ago I’ve cut about 5 large leafs as they got very yellow and droopy. New leaf thats pointing at top - been there for about two weeks now and hasn’t opened and doesn’t look like it’s planning to open/ grow. Tree looks frozen in time and leafs are slowly going. What would you do? Any chance to save it at all? Did I cut too many leaves and babies off at once? Any advice would be super duper appreciated. I honestly don’t even know whom else to call and doing nothing isn’t an option. Don’t want to give up on it!!!
Banana trees technically aren't a palm. Yours may be suffering from transplant shock right now. It should settle down. Here are care tips that should help:

ll have roots but these on the side I assume just need cutting off? I have two main plants, #1 has let out growth from the centre after winter cut down plus pups from below and side. #2 has no new growth after winter cut down but has pups from its side. So which do I cut off and which do I leave ???
Pups grow from the base of the plant or the rhizome. Select offshoots to remove that are more than 1 foot tall, preferably, 2 to 3 feet tall. Smaller ones probably won't survive. Do not remove any pups till the main plant has at least four offshoots to maintain the plant. Yours don't look like they are ready to remove yet.
