I live in east Texas and I have lots of plants, rose bushes etc. I bought a beautiful banana tree, transplanted it into full sun as per the instructions. I make sure not to overwater but it's dying. What can I do?
Banana plants are sensitive to change and disturbing roots. Also, I would not transplant one into full sun without hardening off the plant, first. Here are some articles that will help:

Hello, I have 6ft tall banana leaf plant indoors and I have a question on how much water/how often I should water it. It's planted in a black container that it came in from the store about 12 inches deep. It's in direct sunlight for most of the day. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and some of the leaves are turning brown/yellow and all the leaves are breaking and fraying. I am worried it is dying. Can you please give pointers on how to bring it back to life? Thank you!
Is the black container inside another? If so, when you water, make sure you drain off any water that goes though the black pot to the outer pot. Or, remove the black pot to water, let it drain, then return it to the outside container. For watering, let the soil dry out a bit before watering again. Misting will help with humidity. It seems to have gotten worse after I started to spritz the leaves with water. Also there are 4 plants in the pot. Should I separate them? Any assistance is appreciated, I love my plant!
This is a hungry plant that will appreciate quite a bit of fertilization. If this does not happen, then I would start.
They appreciate some crowding, too. I would not repot until all of the pups in that pot are fully mature.

The top bananas are regular size
Most people prune these off, since they won't really amount to anything. This collection of articles will help you to grow bananas to their potential:
The banana trees die after bearing fruit; however, the pod opens and there are little bananas and then they wither and die... WHY? They don't really develop, are micro, but never reach the stage to be picked.
It is hard to say without seeing photos of your plant, unfortunately. It does sound like they have a disease. There are many that can affect banana trees. This article will help you to get started:

Hi, about two weeks ago I planted some bananas. Many of the leaves have now blackened, with one of them seeming to die completely. Could you please help me identify what is causing this?
Bananas are susceptible to diseases. This can be made worse with thick clay soils. Fungicides will be necessary, but careful watch on the soil moisture will be needed, as well.
