Can I cut the tops off my yucca plant? It is too tall and falling over.
Yes, you can prune your plant to reduce the size.

I live on the Ohio River. When I moved here years ago, a cousin's farm had a lot growing on it. Some of the family in the past had been West and I assumed they brought some back. I now live about four miles from them and have seen several plants. At age 81, I can't remember exactly where I got mine and it has spread, just as you say with a few plants several feet away. Anyhow, mine bloomed well for several years, and then it quit a few years ago. I asked my county agent who was no help. I read someplace it took a while for a new plant to begin blooming, but once it started it would do so every year! Not mine! It has been several years now. Any advice? Jon A. Whitfield

I have a variegated Yucca and it has not bloomed in about 7 years is it a variety that does not bloom or do I have to be patient and wait longer for it to bloom, please
It could be a lack of maturity or other issues. The links below will help you optimize it's growing conditions.

The blades on my yucca plants are turning yellow and getting black spots on them. I have also seen some really tiny black bugs in large clusters on some of the blades. Any advice you could give me would be appreciated. Thank you,
Usually yellow blades are a result of over-watering or not enough light, but this article may help you narrow it down (and also provides a helpful hint on removing any pests on the blades):

hi i brought a yucca plant not long ago and it was very nice and green ive planted it from a plant pot in to a nice bit in my garden and after a couple days the leaves are turning brown and yellow is my plant dying? thank you
Your plant is likely stressed from going from an indoor location to an outdoor planting.
Make sure the soil is well draining.

The bottom leaves are turning brown..over or under watering? I've been watering every day since planting about a week ago. Thanks.
If these are new plantings, and the leaves are turning brown, it is most likely too much water for your drought tolerant plants.
Water with a slow trickle of water at the base of the plant to avoid fungus issues.
Water every two to three weeks in the first growing season, once a week if it is showing signs of water distress during a hot spell.
The plant should receive 1 to 2 gallons of water each watering.
We have a 10-13yr old yucca that has just flowered for the first time and can't work out what it's veriaty name is. It's grown up agains a 4ft fence panel untill last year when we increased the fence height to 6ft now shielding it from any northerly weather pattern, do you think this has encouraged it to flower. Thank you. Roy & Irene Austin.
That is a soap yucca. It is definitly growing flowers! They do better when shielded from harsh winds. Just make sure to cut the flowering stems back when they start to seed or you're going to have a lot of yucca around. They produce a lot of seeds.
