There is a weed growing in my friend's lawn that I cannot identify. It has a grassy stalk and little pink flowers that appear to be catkin-like. It looks like a spike covered in minute balls close to the stem. Any ideas?
Could you send in a picture of the weed? This will help us to identify the plant for you.

I have a plant that I call the helicopter plant. I have had it for several years and it now has these black things all over it. And it is killing my plant. These black things are the size of pencil erasers. I can pick them off. How do I treat this plant?
This could be a few different pests. But the best way to deal with them would be to spray down the plant with the hose and then treat it with an insecticide. I personally like neem oil. It is organic and safe for pets and people. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/problems/pests/neem-oil-uses.htm

Very thin stringy weed climbing from one plant to another. It forms many small 1 cm balls of smaller balls (green) on stems of plants as it grows and attaches from one to another. It lived through a cold Jerusalem winter even though it died back. Would a picture be better?
A picture would help, but if you contact the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens, they will be able to answer your question straight away, and probably give you a wealth of other information besides.
