I have bought a house which has not been lived in for approx 7 years and the rear garden is overgrown with a type of reed/weed that I can't identify. It's about 3 feet tall at the moment and I am struggling to even cut it down. (please see pic attached) I am desperate to get rid of this and would appreciate any help. Regards Andy

Please help me identify this prolific 'weed' and give natural solutions for preventing it from taking over my herb garden! I cleaned up & tilled the herb garden 4 days ago and it looked beautiful. Will pull them today, but my first attempt with the hand cultivator tells me they've got a pretty strong root system. Sincere thanks for your help & guidance!
We have not identified the weed. Take a sample to your County Extension Office for identification.

Hi there, I wonder if you could let me know what the plant in the attached photos are. How can I get rid of them, as my entire garden is plagued by them? Many thanks
It appears to be a species of Mayapple. You can try spraying vinegar just on the leaves, avoiding the soil. If you do anything other than manually pulling them all up, then you may render your soil toxic and not able to plant anything for a season.
Hi-can you please tell me what plant this is? It grows on a long thick stalk, alternating leaves, directly from the ground-against a wall. Southern California. Thank you.
I am unable to identify your plant from that picture. You can take samples to your local extension service, and they will be able to identify that for you. Here is a link to help you find your local extension: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/extension-search/
This growth has appeared annually on my lawn for the last three years, at this time of year. Can you please identify it for me and advise the best way to remove it. Thank you.
It is very hard for me to tell from this picture. If you can take pictures and samples to your local extension, then they will be able to help you further. This link will help you find the closest one to you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/extension-search/
These are close-ups of the growth that has appeared on my lawn. Can anyone identify the problem and advise how to remove it. Thanks
It can be very hard to identify pest grasses, but it is probably a Juncus species. You can take samples to your local extension service to get correct ID. This link will help you find the closes one: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/extension-search/
I can recommend a way to start killing it off in the meantime. This will not hurt your soil, so that the target grass can take back over. Pour boiling water over all patches off this, and it will quickly kill it. Keep any remaining grass cut before any seed heads appear.
