    I wish I could come get a few plants from you!
    With that being said, perhaps a local garden club could help you remove the plants.
    Many gardeners would be thrilled to receive free plants for the price of digging them up.

    Pulling out the the unwanted weed trees is really the only way to remove them.
    If you pull then when they are small they should be easy to remove.

    Removing the source of the seedlings would be the permanent solution.

    I would say you would only have to wait a few days. Vinegar breaks down quickly in the soil and would only affect the soil pH for a few days.

    I would inspect the fine print on your weed killer container - it should give you some indication. Based on my research, people and pets can enter the treated area as soon as the spray dries.

    Here is an article that will help you that discusses how to control sedge weeds. In my research, glyphosate seemed to be the go-to chemical to combat this plant.

    How tall are these trees - are they small seedlings? If so, you are going to just want to just pull or dig them out.
