I've asked this question on a county extension website and they provided me with an answer that didn't make much sense, so, if I may, I will ask you. Can I put bulbs in a freezer for a couple of weeks, say, in March, and then plant them in pots for blooming thereafter. I don't have much luck with the bulbs surviving if I put them in pots in autumn. We're talking tulips, hyacinth, and daffodils here. Thanks
Not the freezer but the refrigerator! Here is an article that will help you.

I would like to grow tulips in vases for an August wedding. If they are shipped to me in September, can I keep them stored until June before I force them? How are my odds at having blooms the right week?
You will need to provide a chill time for them to be forced.

Is true to plant flower bulbs in the fall? I have bulbs for tulips, crocus, iris and alliums. Also, I have some elephant ear bulbs??? I think that's what they are. Do I dig them up for the winter? Thank you in advance for you help. Rachel
Hello,
Thank you for sending us your gardening question. Late Fall is the time for planting bulbs such as tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, alliums, and crocus. It is not necessary to dig and store these bulbs, although not all tulips are perennial. Iris and elephant ears should be planted in the late Spring. Depending on your planting zone, some elephant ears are perennial, and some tubers must be dug and stored.
Here are a couple of articles you might find helpful:

Can these tulips be cut down after the flowers die? if so, how far down should foliage be cut? Will they need transplanting?
This is also called the Siam tulip, so that is why the article at the end calls them that. You should only cut leaves and flower stalks as they die off. Cut it as far down as you can. You may transplant when they seem to have outgrown their space. Here is an article for more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/siam-tulip/growing-siam-tulips.htm
