The nitrogen to phosphorus ratio may be off. The soil may have an abundance of nitrogen, which would result in nice, healthy green growth but little to no blooms. Without the right amount of phosphorus, it will not bloom well. Bone meal is a great way to add phosphorus.

The thing about trumpet fines is that they will climb as high as they can find something to climb. Technically, they can go 40 feet even, if they have something to climb. In most gardens, their height is limited to a trellis, but if you plan on planting it, say, on the side of your house, you can eventually expect it to climb as high as your house.

Trumpet vines can grow quite high and make a nice cover for a wall. We recommend that you build a trellis (plain slatted one is fine) for it to climb as its roots (which is uses to climb) can do damage to your walls.
