I have two bay lauren plants that I neglected (gifted in Feb). Both have been replanted in compost for a week but aren't showing improvment. Both have been watered regularly but I'm not sure how much each needs. One is more worrying than the other (A in the pics) as it feels almost crunchy. Hoping I can save them! Thank you
I think you're doing the right things, and patience may be the key. Be sure you keep all dead leaves clipped away, and remember that if the roots sit in water, they won't be able to survive, so even though the tree is desperate for water, it doesn't want to sit with wet feet. Good soil drainage is important. Also, make sure they don't get too much intense heat as the seasons change. You may have to baby them for a while. If they don't improve soon, it might be a good idea to contact a certified arborist for help.

Hi we have a very large bay laurel bush - it didn’t grow many new leaves in one side this spring and there are strange markings on the trunk - is there a way to save it?
It may be scale. See the article below for treatment:

My bay leaf plant did great all winter, this spring the leaves were getting brown. I put it outside and its getting worse. Does it need shade. I got it from a friend who had no room for it so I don't know what care it needs.
It does need full sun but it needs to gradually be moved to sun when moving it from inside the house. Start out in shade and increase the amount of sun every couple of days. These articles should help:

A question on a damaged bay tree. I have a standard bay tree about 1.5m tall of the "lollipop" style which has been damaged. The ball is formed from two main branches one of which snapped off. Tried to graft it back but as you can see from the photo it did not take and is now just held with tie wraps. What can I do to try and recreate the foliage in a ball? Cut it back to the stem or is it a lost cause? The problem is that one of the main branches has snapped very close to the trunk and I am left with a rather wonky bit. Grateful for any advice.
Unfortunately, that is a large branch to try and graft. It was destined to fail. Luckily, there is a nice branch left. You can choose to keep that and reshape it as it ages, or you can cut the top off ans start again. Be aware that if you go this route, you can kill the tree if there aren't any replacement branches.
I would shape what is already there, but I would let it grow out instead of turning it into a standard shape. Trees have a way of making some interesting shapes from damage, though they may not look as intended.

I've recently purchased a bay tree which I am standing in a pot near to my front door. The plastic pot that it came in, doesn't have holes in the bottom. Should I re-pot it into a plastic pot with holes to ensure proper drainage or should I leave it until next spring?
You should, definitely, put that into a container with drainage holes. This article will help you to grow them in container:
