A friend gave me this lovely sago palm and it didn't have the yellow spots when they gave it to me - now it does. What do you do for this?? Many thanks
It may be a manganese deficiency. Here is more:

There are 3 yellow fronds and 3 healthy looking fronds. It is a houseplant. What's the best way to remove the yellow fronds?
It is best not to remove the yellow fronds as they are still obtaining nutrients for the plant. Find out why your plant has yellow leaves and treat accordingly. Often it is a nutritional deficiency. You can prune out dead, brown fronds and I'm including an article that addresses how to prune.

It started 5 years ago before I knew what was going on and they're taking over now
Unfortunately, your photos did not come through. I am unable to see the situation to give an assessment.
You can relocate the pups, or pull them away and discard if you do not want to keep them. It is important to make sure that it is not growing excessive pups because of an issue, though. Sometimes, pups will be produced because of an illness that triggers the survival instinct of reproduction.

I paid £20 which seems to be the right price
I've never had one but its foliage is described as being plastic-like so you are probably OK, especially if it was from a reputable online nursery. Plus I doubt a fake one would come with real soil.
We had a bad freeze this past winter. It had developed seed pods but no top growth! It has produced pups at the base so should I remove the top and long stalk and leave the pups?
Yes, that will be the correct course of action to take from here!
I have two potted Sago Palms (6" pots) whose older leaves are yellow and yellowing. I cut off the yellow leaves on one Sago Palm and the other palm's older leaves are yellowing now. The soil is very alkaline . From your description of the difference between magnesium deficiency and manganese deficiency I believe we have magnesium deficiency. What form of magnesium do I need and how do I administer it to my Sago Palms? Thank you so much for your help, Linda H. Cooper
