My white roses are potted. I have many blooms but the leaves are turning brown on the edges. Is this a sign of over watering or not enough water? Perhaps it-s the large plastic pots I have them planted in.
The leaves turning brown at the edges is usually a sign of the weather being very hot. The rosebush just cannot get enough water out to the edges of the leaves to prevent them from burning. This can also show up on the blooms petal edges, as they will look burned and crispy as well. Keep them well watered but not soggy wet and they should be fine once the weather cools a bit. My new vine is growing vigorously from the base at soil level. There is also small growth at the top of the 6-inch plant which I planted in the dormant season.
Sounds like it's growing well, whatever it is. Yes, some kinds of vining plants can grow suckers.
I placed an order for rose seeds in eBay and they got delivered. After that I have planted those seeds directly into the soil 10 days before but not even a single seed germinated. I love roses but I got disappointed. Please tell me simple tips to grow the roses from seeds.
Growing roses from seed is not an easy task. There is a process that the seeds need to go through or they will not sprout. Please check out the article at this link for some help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/growing-roses-from-seed.htm
I have a moss-like fungus on the "tree" portion of my rose bushes - crepe myrtles and even my peach tree. I am in Florida, so it gets very hot here.
My guess would be downy mildew: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/disease/downy-mildew.htm
In order to be absolutely sure, you can take some samples to the county extension service for analysis. This link will help you locate the nearest one: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/info/what-is-extension-service.htm
I had fairy roses planted about 3 years ago. In June, there were a lot of "suckers" that I pruned back. Now, there are even more and no new blooms! Wat should I do?
thank you! I cut it back today and there were some blooms hiding under all that new growth. do you have any idea why there are so many very long shoots with no buds? thanks again
I see some little pink blooms in there which is a good sign. Some of these bloom on last years growth, so pruning them back hard will eliminate blooms for that season. If you are fertilizing them make sure that the fertilizer being used is not high in nitrogen. The high nitrogen fertilizers will give you lots of growth but not many if any blooms. I would prune back some of the canes to thin the bushes out. Prune them back all the way to the ground. Leaving enough for a nice full look yet not overgrown looking. When new shoots come back in those areas, prune them off again before they get big again. This should help with the bushes being overgrown and allow more air circulation which is better for the overall health of the bushes.
My rose leaves are being eaten by caterpillars. What can I use to get rid of them? Thank you

I live in Spain and would like to mix horse manure and grass cuttings to use as a mulch on flower beds and roses.
Animal manures need to be composted, at the very least allowed to dry for a year, before they can be used on your plants. This article will tell you more about using horse manure: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/composting/manures/horse-manure-compost.htm
